Session Overview
This work addresses the body's challenges at a very deep level without physically touching or manipulating delicate tissues. Though compassionate listening to the body and the various rhythms presented by the systems and tissues, the horse and I will work together to facilitate their own innate capability to heal.
Horses are naturally in movement and often the horse and I will move in order to bend their body and use their natural footfall to release blocked tissues. Other times, the work will be quiet and still, releasing those stories tied-up in the tissues at a pace that is right for the horse. By listening to the various bodily rhythms (circulatory, craniosacral system, lymphatic, and respiratory) as well as the movement of each organ, I assess and address where changes need to occur with the end goal of harmonizing the entire body.
Change is never forced, but instead it is requested allowing the body to reset at its own pace for a more thorough healing. Every horse is different and each will show me an approach that will support what they need in that moment. This is my passion. To listen and support each element as it contributes to their own orchestration of life.
Jenny's Background
Jenny was born and raised at North Lake Tahoe in California and after obtaining her undergraduate and graduate degrees in music performance moved to the San Francisco, Bay Area. Her day jobs have ranged from commercial real estate to her current job as an operational risk consultant at a large bank. However, after 32 years of playing the French horn, a repetitive injury to her wrist caused her to look for help from a physical therapist / craniosacral therapist. Immediately seeing improvements in her wrist, she wanted to learn more and started scheduling appointments with various bodyworkers, including craniosacral therapy. Because of its soft, non-invasive touch that looks to balance tissues and bones alike, craniosacral therapy spiked her interest. Jenny started taking classes from the Upledger Institute International, now part of the International Alliance of Healthcare Educators (IAHE) and began learning to give and receive craniosacral therapy with other people.
During an annual visit to the Western States Horse Expo in Sacramento, CA she attended a lecture by Tom Mayes with Integrated Equine Therapies and watched him demonstrate his work of using craniosacral therapy combined with indirect osteopathic techniques. She was amazed and knew at a gut level, this was her calling. After five years of classes with Tom Mayes, she completed his professional certification. She has also continued classes hosted by the IAHE both in craniosacral therapy and Distance Healing From the Core®, and has completed equine massage coursework under Equinology®.
